Second year students incorporated Eve Taylor’s essential oil blends to their sweedish massage treatment this week in spa treatment class.  The students are learning that the oils not only smell good but can affect the clients mind, body and spirit.  Although Niagara Waters Spa is not currently offering body massage clients can still experience some aromatherapy by booking an advanced facial treatment.  An essential oil blend is chosen for the client and added along with the facial massage for a truly customized facial experience based on the clients skin type/ conditions.  Book your advanced facial treatment today and experience it for yourself!!

When visiting any salon or spa it is very important to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled services.  This will allow all health history forms to be filled out and this will allow all services to begin on time and end on time.   With everyone’s busy schedule we all know how important it is to stay on time so we try to teach the students the value of time management right from the start of their spa related career.  With November upon us call today to book your appointment today before we are closed for the holiday season. We will be taking appointments until November 27 and closed until January 12, 2010. This year we will not be operating during exams which will take place the first 3 weeks of December in order to give the students as much opportunity to focus on exams without the added stress of working on the public. Please join us in January for some new and exciting additions to our spa menu.

One of the most important aspects of weddings and special events is proper planning. One area in particular that requires diligent planning is a well thought out beauty routine. In some cultures the bride may prepare every day for months to look her very best on the actual wedding day. In our time-crunched culture, a little foresight can go a long way. Full-scale bathing rituals of the past may be replaced with lunch-hour facials. Beauty and fitness professionals can help design a program that will have you looking and feeling your best in much shorter periods of time.

Whether you are planning a wedding, a cruise, family or high school reunion, prom, or any other event in which you want to look your best, consider the following checklist:

Skin care

Although many skin care treatments can be done quickly, many services do require multiple treatments to achieve the best results. If you are planning to receive facials, peels, microdermabrasion, etc., it is best to consult your skin care professional at least three to six months prior to the event. This will allow time to design a proper treatment program so you can start using the recommended home-care products. It is not advised to try a new product line or treatment immediately prior to a major engagement due to the minimal, however possible, chance of a product allergy or reaction.

Hair removal

Many clients are under the impression that waxing and/or any other type of hair removal are to be done directly before a big event. It is a better idea to start waxing several months out to receive the best result. This can save time and aggravation during a honeymoon by alleviating the need to shave or tweeze, to achieve smooth skin. Since some clients may experience mild irritation when receiving hair removal services for the first time, proper planning is again advised.
